After graduation from Fort Hays State University in 1974, Dwight began his insurance career at Cimarron Insurance Company in Cimarron, Kansas as an underwriter and was promoted in 1990 to director and vice president.

In 1992, he became employed by American (Fidelity) Mercury Insurance Company as an assistant vice president. While at american mercury he held numerous leadership positions.

Dwight began his career with Columbia Insurance Group in 1997 as an assistant branch manager in Salina, Kan. and then was promoted to vice president-salina branch manager in 1998. He currently holds this position today. Dwight has held numerous committee positions during his tenure in insurance with multiple organizations including being a board member of KAPCIC. Dwight also plans to retire within the next several months.
